The Axis of Idiots by J.D. Pendry, CSM, US Army retired.
UPDATE: I need to clarify this post. It was put on the blog when I was working on a project while subcontracting for the DoD. My project was taking up the bulk of my time and I had no time to post on my blog. This was sent to me by one of my vet buddies, and I felt so strongly about “the message” I put it up without researching Sgt. Major Pendry first, which I should have done. I found a webpage about him later when I had time to look at it that stated he was a career Army officer. I came out at that time and edited this post to clarify that since originally the email stated he was a Marine, and since my family has many who have served in all branches, I did want the accurate accounting. Unfortunately, the blog link references the “Marine” designation from when this was posted originally. Combat Sgt. Major Pendry, retired, writes for Random House and blogs with the “Old War Dogs” on their blog. You can read some of his insights there. Since so many still end up here reading this post, I wanted to explain why the link implies USMC when it should be Army. Anyone who might know how to fix the permalink, please tell me in the comments! Thanks for coming by. HoosierArmyMom.

This retired Army Command Sgt. Major has an excellent blog at J.D.Pendry here on WordPress. Thank you Sgt Major for putting into words what so many of us feel and think. Soldiers say the darnedest things, thank God!
Too bad we don’t have folks on Capitol Hill willing to speak out like this. J. D. Pendry is a retired Army Command Sergeant Major who writes for Random House. He is eloquent, and he seldom beats around the bush!
“The Axis of Idiots”
Jimmy Carter, you are the father of the Islamic Nazi movement. You threw the Shah under the bus, welcomed the Ayatollah home, and then lacked the spine to confront the terrorists when they took our embassy and our people hostage. Our Canadian friends gave as many as they could sanctuary in their embassy in Iran . They’re more American than you’ll ever be. You’re the runner-in-chief.
Bill Clinton, you played ring around the Lewinsky while the terrorists were at war with us. You got us into a fight with them in Somalia and then you ran from it. Your weak-willed responses to the U.S.S. Cole and the First Trade Center Bombing and Our Embassy Bombings emboldened the killers. Each time you failed to respond adequately, they grew bolder, until 9/11/2001.
John Kerry, dishonesty is your most prominent attribute. You lied about American Soldiers in Vietnam . Your military service, like your life, is more fiction than fact. You’ve accused our military of terrorizing women and children in Iraq . You called Iraq the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time, the same words you used to describe Vietnam. You’re a fake. You want to run from Iraq and abandon the Iraqis to murderers just as you did to the Vietnamese. Iraq , like Vietnam , is another war that you were for, before you were against it.
John Murtha, you said our military was broken. You said we can’t win militarily in Iraq . You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof and said we should redeploy to Okinawa . Okinawa, John? And the Democrats call you their military expert! Are you sure you didn’t suffer a traumatic brain injury while you were off building your war hero resume? You’re a sad, pitiable, corrupt and washed up politician. You’re not a Marine, sir. You wouldn’t amount to a good pimple on a real Marine’s backside. You’re a phony and a disgrace. Run away, John.
Dick Durbin, you accused our Soldiers at Guantanamo of being Nazis, tenders of Soviet style gulags and as bad as the regime of Pol Pot, who murdered two million of his own people after your party abandoned Southeast Asia to the Communists. Now you want to abandon the Iraqis to the same fate. History was not a good teacher for you, was it? Lord help us! See Dick run.
Ted Kennedy, for days on end you held poster-sized pictures from Abu Ghraib in front of any available television camera. Al Jazeera quoted you saying that Iraqi’s torture chambers were open under new management. Did you see the news, Teddy? The Islamic Nazis demonstrated another beheading for you. If you truly supported our troops, you’d show the world poster-sized pictures of that atrocity and demand the annihilation of it. Your legislation stripping support from the South Vietnamese led to a communist victory there. You’re a bloated, drunken fool, bent on repeating the same historical blunder that turned freedom-seeking people over to homicidal, genocidal maniacs. To paraphrase John Murtha, all while sitting on your wide, gin-soaked ass in Washington.
Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Carl Levine, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Russ Feingold, Hillary Clinton, Pat Leahy, Barack Obama, Chuck Schumer, the Hollywood Leftist morons, et al, ad nauseam: Every time you stand in front of television cameras and broadcast to the Islamic Nazis that we went to war because our President lied, that the war is wrong and our Soldiers are torturers, that we should leave Iraq, you give the Islamic butchers – the same ones that tortured and mutilated American Soldiers – cause to think that we’ll run away again, and all they have to do is hang on a little longer. It is inevitable that we, the infidels, will have to defeat the Islamic jihadists. Better to do it now on their turf, than later on ours after they have gained both strength and momentum.
American news media, the New York Times particularly: Each time you publish stories about national defense secrets and our intelligence gathering methods, you become one, united with the sub-human pieces of camel dung that torture and mutilate the bodies of American Soldiers. You can’t strike up the courage to publish cartoons, but you can help Al Qaeda destroy my country. Actually, you are more dangerous to us than Al Qaeda is. Think about that each time you face Mecca to admire your Pulitzer..
You are all, America’s “AXIS OF IDIOTS“. Your Collective Stupidity will destroy us. Self-serving politics and terrorist-abetting news scoops are more important to you than our national security or the lives of innocent civilians and Soldiers. It bothers you that defending ourselves gets in the way of your elitist sport of politics and your ignorant editorializing. There is as much blood on your hands as is on the hands of murdering terrorists. Don’t ever doubt that. Your frolics will only serve to extend this war as they extended Vietnam . If you want our Soldiers home as you claim, knock off the crap and try supporting your country ahead of supporting your silly political aims and aiding our enemies.
Yes, I’m questioning your patriotism. Your loyalty ends with self. I’m also questioning why you’re stealing air that decent Americans could be breathing. You don’t deserve the protection of our men and women in uniform. You need to run away from this war, this country. Leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through and the country to people who are willing to defend it.
No, Mr. President, you don’t get off the hook, either. Our country has two enemies: Those who want to destroy us from the outside and those who attempt it from within. Your Soldiers are dealing with the outside force. It’s your obligation to support them by confronting “THE AXIS OF IDIOTS“.
America must hear it from you that these self-centered people are harming our country, abetting the enemy and endangering our safety. Well up a little anger, please, and channel it toward the appropriate target. You must prosecute those who leak national security secrets to the media. You must prosecute those in the media who knowingly publish those secrets.
Our Soldiers need you to confront the enemy that they cannot. They need you to do it now!

Second Update: It has come to my attention that liberal moonbats who have nothing better to do point to this post as being inaccurate based on the original permalink that displayed JD Pendry as being a Marine. Back in November 08 corrected the post to reflect this but did not correct the permalink. So it is all correct now. Also, on jerk claims Pendry does not write for Random House. Well, I found information online in November that claimed he did. The pages often change so I leave that up to the reader to figure out, if they are so inclined. I posted this in the first place because I agreed with what it said. I have explained more than once about the inaccuracies I have encountered and about the corrections I have made. If the liberal morons who keep linking here so they can sound like they know something that has not been stated about this want to continue to do so… so be it. Just hope no one that you are trying to impress reads this entire post. You may look kind of stupid.

At JD’s request I’m replacing the bio information that was here with the following copy of the About post from his site:
I am a native West Virginian. I retired from the Army on September 30, 1999. I’m not a war hero. My views are conservative, pro-defense and pro Soldier.
My first line leadership book, The Three-Meter Zone: Common Sense Leadership for NCOs was released by Presidio Press in April, 1999. Random House purchased Presidio and now TMZ is under the Ballatine label. If you have a copy, thanks.

Hey Sarg tell that to the party you support when they leaked CIA operative Valerie Plame’s identity. You must prosecute those who leak national security secrets to the media.
Let’s see bailey, WHO was in charge of that investigation?
Capitol Hill Democrats hold informal hearing on Plame leak
Now would that be YOUR Party? And what does that have to do with holding those on Capitol Hill RESPONSIBLE for what they say (always not proven with facts) about our troops? Your arguement, where I would agree, EVERYONE from the President all the way through The House and Congress, Democrat and Republican shamed us all on the Plame betrayal, it has nothing whatsoever to do with what Sgt Major Pendry wrote. As per norm, ya’ll try to argue apples against oranges.

So, which is it? They both must be true, it’s in orint and I read it and it’s on the internets.
When I posted the article, the source said he was USMC so that is what the link says. I changed the post after I went to J.D. Pendry’s website and read his “About Page”. Unfortunately, changing the blog post does not change the orignial tag in the link, and now when I go to it the domain has been deleted.
Sgt Major Pendry is a military/law enforcement writer who writes for Random House. He is a native of West Virginia and retired from the U.S. Army.

A great blog I might add!
These links are the sources I believe to have it correct. Thank you for your comment.
Now who’s stirring up a bucket of shit? Which is J.D. Pendry? retired Army or USMC…there is a difference. He can say what he likes in my opinion. You wanna read something really scary? Watch for a new book: Vietnam Unclassified, Photo Gallery + True Stories to be released this May…Dats all…Sgt. Bill Kazlausky, USMC 1969-73 and good health to all.
He was retired from the Army, Sgt Kazlausky. There has been a lot of confusion on the internet, but Sgt. Major Pendry, ret. posts along with some other vets of all branches at Old War Dogs.
I will look at Vietnam Unclassified, thanks for that recommendation and especially thank you for your service!
I could not agree with Sergeant Major Pendry more. He has clearly identified the enemy and it is us. If he used an alias, who cares.
In the military we took and oath to defend this country against all enemies – foreign and domestic – now, the domestic is the greater threat!
I spent 20 years in the military – ready for war at a moments notice. The politicians would not let my generation take care of the business at hand. Now my son faces another Vietnam…I pray for him each night.
Let’s take our country back from the Obama’s, Clinton’s and others whom would sell us out for approval ratings. Let’s save this country while there is a chance!
Give me the USA of the early 1960’s! We weren’t going to back down from any mouse that roared!
P. Smith USN Ret.
I am honored and in full agreement with you Phil. My great uncle was a career Navy man (an officer) and my uncle served in a submarine in WWII. I thank you for your service, and I assure you, there is a movement among our young heros that honors all that is said here. They are the Oath Keepers and there is a link to them on my blogroll. Sir, I will do anything to try to make the future better for my sons and their children. The American People need to rise up!
Where was all this info prior to the election? it was there and needed to be spread around but it was not. Action is needed not a lot of useless comintary. Support is needed to remove these infectents from our government. ACTION, ACTION,
I am a retired Marine First Sgt and action gets it done. These slugs of government need to be removed. I believe in our legal system and that is the way to go or is it corrupt also. keep your information coming I will do all i can to pass it on. Semper Fi.
ROBERT L. THOMPSON
Thank you Robert. I will send you an email with a lot of information and a blog link to my good friend Mustang’s blog. He is retired from the Corps and posts some great info on his blog. There is a movement and I will happy to hook you up with ways to connect with it.
There were many who were trying to get information out during the election, but the mainstream media is corrupt with propogandists, and the Obama Campaign had the equivelant of thugs attacking those who put the information out. One blogger I know, Cao, had her personal information put out all over the web, including SS#, info about her sons (both in the military!), etc. I will contact you by email today.
I’m not hereto get into any pissin’ matches about who is right or wrong or who is better or worse when it comes to our elected officials. I am going to challenge the validity of J.D. Pendry though. When you go to Old War Dogs website, you find some interesting information or the lack of.
Like – At JD’s request I’m replacing the bio information that was here with the following copy of the About post from his site: (which you can’t get to)
I am a native West Virginian. I retired from the Army on September 30, 1999. I’m not a war hero. My views are conservative, pro-defense and pro Soldier.
Secondly – J.D. is entitled to wear stars and numerals indicating multiple awards of several of the ribbons shown. The webmaster has so far been unable to obtain suitable artwork.
What the heck does that mean? No unit artwork, no pictures of himself? Doesn’t this all seem strange to anyone? All the other contributing editors had artwork and pictures.
The fact remains, history is it’s own evidence that each and every congressional “spread” has taken this country further and further down the drain. All we Americans are dealing with now are trials and errors of those who have enough power to make a decision that affects the entire country. The real question is, when are WE THE PEOPLE going to step up and start using OUR authority to set the feds straight? The government ought to be afraid of US instead of the other way around. Lives are being lost every second of every day while the parties sit up on Capitol Hill voting, thinking, trying to decide what to do. P. Smith is right, we’ve got to go seriously retro to get back some common sense and for this country to have a fighting chance now at true freedom.
Thank you for your comment Cynthia and I couldn’t agree with you more. Friends of Freedom are working on options everywhere and it’s hard to keep up, but… I will be posting on some interesting options and movements that give me hope.
Americans have to get off their laurals and use the gifts our founding father left us with, to restore this country. God Bless you and stay tuned. Together we can get our country back.
Axis of Idiots? How foolishly naive. The Democratic Party has matured into a very sophistocated, all-attorney, well-connected, group of super-strategists, spending all their time getting advice on how to deceive the voting public, made up of bleeding-heart blind wanna-believers living in fantasy, and the looking-to-get-something-for-nothings. Every one of their actions are well-rehearsed, totally insincere, and in every way first for them gaining more power while making it look like they are doing us a favor. We are just pawns in their game, and careless voters are who give them that power. And I think you know this.
You are quite correct RNC. You won’t get an argument from me on any of your points.
Thank you for commenting.
Who is J.D. Pendry?? It is claimed he was Sgt Major of USMC. There has been 16 Sgt. Majors of USMC ,from 1957 till present, and he never was one.Sergeants Major of the Marine Corps Another article claims he was Command Sgt. major, but in U.S. Army. I can not prove or disprove if that is accurate.
Hello John, hope you are having a good Memorial Day. I have corrected and added updates to this post over and over to the point I can scarcely believe it. The USMC designation was an error from the original source. Pendry’s bio is on the “Old War Dogs” Blog. He seems to have killed off his own blog, probably seeking “peace”, I don’t know. But he was a Army Sgt. Major who has been retired for some time.
RNC & Hoosiermom:
I’ve been designating them the “Axis of Sedition” or the “Axis of Treason” for some time now. Feel free to snatch it.
Thanks Sillie. I’ll check you out.
I commend the CSM on his views and the love for his country and our brave serving our country in the arm forces. I served 27 years and not one day of that time was in combat however I was willing and kept myself prepared. I believed however we in the uniformed service were to protect our citizens fromm forign and domestic enemies and I included our politicians as a domestic enemy. If a politician lips are moving you can count on they are lying at some point because down under the epidoral of their sorry bodies they are self serving all while they want you to believe your well being is their mission in life. CSM Pendry may God keep you safe and the truth will always prevail.
Semper Fi
Sergeant Major Pendry,
I hope this reaches you and all the other veterans out there.
We – you, I and the other vets – took an oath:
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The Oath of Office (for military enlisted members. Title 10, US Code; Act of 5 May 1960 replacing the wording first adopted in 1789, with amendment effective 5 October 1962).
“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.”
The Oath of Office (for military officers. DA Form 71, 1 August 1959, for officers.)
“I, _____ (SSAN), having been appointed an officer in the Army/Navy/Marine Corps/Air Force/Coast Guard of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservations or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God.”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
My question is quite simple:
Are we in violation of our oath and in dereliction of our duty?
Charles M. Prignano
Major, USAF, Retired
MAJOR MANDOLIN
We would not even have been in Iraq if not for the so-called weapons of mass destruction and the war that George Bush lead us into. Thousands of our soldiers have died for a war that should not have been. Do you believe that everything bad that has ever happened to our country was caused by democrats only? This is the most horrible thing that we have ever read. It was passed to us in an e-mail and it is disgusting.
Mam, I am still a registered Democrat, an NO I don’t believe the Democrats are responsible for everything bad that has happened in the is country. I do know that “Progressives” came from a communist influence. There is lots of data out there where you can connect the dots if you aren’t into denial of facts. Our tendency to vote party lines without looking at the individuals who are wanting to make our laws is the problem. I don’t have much use for GWB myself. But he is not the only “politician” that needs to be held accountable. All I can say is read the Constitution and Bill of Rights and compare voting records with the bills that have been passed and you will realize both parties have been hijacked by some power mongering, greedy elements.
(Earlier known as (RNC Member”). To the Dyers’ comment…”Our tendancy to vote party lines….”. The reality is (if you live in reality and not fantasy) that when you enter the voting booth, unless you like to throw away your vote, you have but two choices. And reality is that one Party increases the likelihood of …… (1)honoring the U.S. Constitution as originally intended and all those that died thinking they were protecting it, and (2) works to reduce government growth and cost and intervention in our ethical and productive capitalist private-sector lives, and (3) having the CIA and FBI to talk to one another again, maximizing national security once lost and now threatened again, and (4) rewarding individuals for their efforts instead of punishing for someone else’s mistakes……, and the other Party reduces the likelihood of embracing these American values, with destructive self-serving intent. These are the truths, and they cannot be denied. Pick a side; the one closest to honoring American standards and values, not every special interest one. Gutless fence-straddlers: please leave the country now. And in relation….if you want to support blacks then go to Africa. If you want to support Hispanics then go to Spain. Italians?, then go to Italy. But anyone in a position of making public policy for America, I want them to make it for Americans, and NOT biased to any special interest, as one Party has made a history of so enthusiastically, historically proven to lead only to more division and not unity.
Good and thoughtful comment Mike. I was recently injured in a car crash, so I’m not blogging much and can only sit here for a few minutes at time. I do so appreciate readers comments right now. Thank you.
Neither of us have ever voted “party lines” as we have both voted for Dems and Republicans in our lifetime. As a white couple in our late 60’s we have seen our share of bad in both parties. It just seemed that all the bad in this post ended up being Democrats. We don’t understand what the above post is saying about”if you want to support blacks then go to Africa”. Are you saying this about Obama? We really think he is trying so hard to get things straightened out that Bush has left to him, and all he gets is negativity from the republicans. All we heard during the primaries were that Obama thinks he is the Messiah, this came only from republicans. They must really beleive it because no human person would be expected to turn the economy around, get health care reform and work out the George Bush war problems and all the other things he has to do in 6 months time. It would have been a joke to see Palin and Mccain try, either. We would have been in more of a mess than we are now. And if republicans don’t want what they call socialized medicine, then I guess we don’t need Medicare anymore. If that’s not government controlled, I don’t know what is. But thanks for reading.

One man’s truth is another man’s fallacy. I respect the CSM’s opinion and agree with bits of it. However, the enemy in my eyes are those that still believe in a bi-partisan system. Its counter productive. Since when did it become ok to have the interest of one’s party supersede the needs and interest of the nation? One cannot judge a man simply by the biased media congested perspectives that we recieve. Both Republican and Democrat. Until you live a day in that man’s shoes, feel as he feels, justify as he justifies…then you can truly pass judgement. We need a mature nation to cast aside our desire to better our political alignment and make this nation what it needs to be..ONE nation.
As for the terrorist, Your going to fail. I’ve seen the strength that the men and women of our military possess and might I be one of several to pass the much needed knowledge that Your days are numbered.
As for who our internal enemy is, its simple…ignorance. So many are too self absorbed to realized that they truely do not know anything. blabbering nonsense in support of views they don’t fully understand. Get educated. Get involved. If you hate whats going on in this government, then do something about it. The American dream will die by the hands of those who choose not to save it. And by the “American Dream”, I mean the dream that if you work hard enough, anything can be achieved.
To CSM Pendry, if he ever somehow stumbles across this, your work does not go without notice. Those that have read your book the Three-Meter Zone have you to thank for their successful leadership style. You’ve given good NCO’s much to think about it in the matter’s of fellow Soldier’s and how to give them the leadership they deserve.
To those who wish to comment on my post, feel free to comment either which way you want. I’m not politically aligned left or right. My allegiance is to the Values for which our nation was found.
Thank you for your comment sir and your service to our country. As for the question, “Since when did it become ok to have the interest of one’s party supersede the needs and interest of the nation?”, it is my belief that many of the so called leaders that ignore the will of the people over serving special interests will have their political career cut short in 2010. America’s core values have stemmed from our Constitution and it’s high time some of them actually read it and took it seriously as a form or part of their job description. The more I read about the founding fathers and their sacrifices, the more I appreciate them and the country the founded.
Thank you for your profound comments. I’m am proud that there are and always have been such good men and sound thinkers serving us all.
old jd sure is a chest pounder for the redneck right. I love the way that he didnt mention ronald regan that silver screen god of the far right and how he lost 260 marines in a barracks explosion in beriut, lebanon and what did he do, he cut and ran. we wont talk about nixon shaming the country or bush and cheney’s axis of idiots. way to go jd ron mitchell us army retired
Ron, I don’t see Reagan as the big hero that many other people do. I remember the Iran Contra scandal as well. The only thing I want to see is for the Constitution to be respected and for regular people to wake up and realize that as citizens, we owe it to ourselves to keep track of what the “mere mortals” we elect do once they are in Washington and hold them accountable when they do unethical and unconstitutional things. We do indeed get the government we deserve, because we’d rather vegetate on the couch instead of doing a little research, to see what our crooked politicians are doing on Capitol Hill. JMHO.
Thank you for your service Ron.
