Gaffes, blunders, and numerous occurances of misspoken moments?
I don’t know about anyone else, but I am really getting to the point where if I have to look at any of the candidates in the White House for four years, I could spend four years carrying a barf bag around. Town Hall has some interesting articles this morning. John Hawkins in his article mentions some Obama gaffes that when you think about him being just one candidate, comes off as excessive ignorance.
Howard Dean 2.0
Although the mainstream media is working hard to cover for him, Obama is the most gaffe prone candidate to run for the Presidency on the Democratic side since Howard Dean. Some of his greatest hits include:
“You got into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
“You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a (flag) pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq war, that became a substitute for, I think, true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest…”
“Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”
Remember all the flack poor Dan Quayle caught for his “potato” snafu? Well, Barack Obama makes Dan Quayle look like Einstein.
Comments made about those Obama surrounds himself with and why he really isn’t qualified to be President are interesting as well.
Whether you’re talking about slum lord Tony Rezko, unrepentant terrorists William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, Barack’s anti-white “sounding board” and pastor Jeremiah Wright, or his chief strategist, lobbyist David Axelrod, Obama has an offputting cast of characters around him — and that’s not even counting his wife, “Teresa Heinz” Obama“, who’s almost as gaffe prone as her husband.
He’s Not Qualified To Be President
In a post-911 world, where the next President is going to be handling the war on terrorism, trying to prevent another 9/11, and dealing with a whole host of critical domestic issues, there is absolutely nothing in Barack Obama’s background that indicates he’s up to the job.
Given the situation, are the American people going to choose a young, mistake-prone, extremely inexperienced senator with a history of hard drug use and a knack for making basic geography errors — over a 72 year old POW with more than 20 years worth of experience in Congress? Whatever you may think of McCain, even a lot of liberals would probably be willing to admit in private that they’d rather have him taking that 3 AM phone call after a major terrorist attack than Obama.
In my mind, I add to this the fact that Obama has been talking loudly about “getting out of Iraq”, has been hollering from the rafters that the war was being lost just a few short months ago, but he hasn’t been there since 2006 to do an in person assessment. Hugh Hewett sums it up with this statement in “Barack Obama, meet Micheal Yon…”
Barack Obama’s long absence from Iraq after his one and only visit to the country –a two day visit in January, 2006—is shocking. Until John McCain’s blistering attack on Obama’s apparent indifference to observing conditions there, I had simply assumed that, like Senators McCain, Clinton, Biden and Governor Romney, Obama had been to Iraq after the surge had been initiated and its initial successes achieved. After all, Senator Obama wants to be the Commander-in-Chief in wartime. Given the centrality of the Iraq theater to that war and the conditions in Iraq crucial relevance to the campaign ahead, I am astonished to learn that he hasn’t bothered to make one trip to the country since declaring his candidacy for the presidency.
I believe it is a reasonable expectation to expect a candidate to “speak with authority”, on a issue like war, from having “been there” and seen it first hand.
Then there is the issue of who a candidate associates with. This is part of a public servant’s life that has always came under scrutiny, but anyone who questions Barack’s associations is deemed a “racist” by the radical left. I have never seen a candidate or a candidate’s camp retreat behind a word so much. We have a well educated couple that can’t keep race out of the election, implying that every “question too uncomfortable to answer” is race baiting or racist. Go figure.

David Axelrod: Via “Hot Air” says this:
The strange contest over lobbying takes a swing to the Left today, as Newsweek details the biggest lobbying connection in the campaign. After spending most of the month trying to paint John McCain as having a lobbyist problem, Barack Obama’s chief strategist David Axelrod may have been hoist by his own petard. His consulting firm turns out to do lobbying as well, and in some shady ways:
“When Illinois utility Commonwealth Edison wanted state lawmakers to back a hefty rate hike two years ago, it took a creative lobbying approach, concocting a new outfit that seemed devoted to the public interest: Consumers Organized for Reliable Electricity, or CORE. CORE ran TV ads warning of a “California-style energy crisis” if the rate increase wasn’t approved—but without disclosing the commercials were funded by Commonwealth Edison. The ad campaign provoked a brief uproar when its ties to the utility, which is owned by Exelon Corp., became known. “It’s corporate money trying to hoodwink the public,” the state’s Democratic Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn said. What got scant notice then—but may soon get more scrutiny—is that CORE was the brainchild of ASK Public Strategies, a consulting firm whose senior partner is David Axelrod, now chief strategist for Barack Obama.”

In a campaign where there is so much of the pot calling the kettle black, Obama seems immune to having to answer to the usual scrutiny that previous sitting presidents have answered to in the past. Of course there is that nasty matter that the MSM ignores and has been playing out on the sidelines, which is Larry Sinclair’s accusations. Basically, the boiled down version is an incident that happened while Obama was a Illinois State Senator that involves drugs and homosexual sex. You can get the full scoop on Larry’s Blog. You had better hurry and do so, as he has been threatened with getting shut down. Whether or not Larry is telling the truth or a lie, is up to everyone to view the facts and decide. My view is this. If I were running for office and someone came out with a story like this, and I was innocent, I would address it honorably and immediately. I wouldn’t send in the goons, try to set the man up over and over, and dish out months of harrassment on the accuser. I think the way Larry has been dealt with points to the fact that he may be telling the truth. If he is lying, why would Obama not address it honorably, as he is obviously a “sick man” and the truth should be easy to prove? Obama has “seemed to be hiding his real persona for some time” and this just adds to that feeling. Larry is not backing down. Read and decide for yourself.
Another point that I feel compelled to make is the fact that another blogger has been supporting Larry in his quest to bring the truth out. She has come to the conclusion that he is telling the truth and has been there from the beginning, trying to help give him “a voice” amid all the harassment he has received from the Obama camp since this started. What she is now getting is a large dose of threats and harassment herself, including the publishing of all “her personal and private information on the web”. This all dates back to her standing by and helping a green beret who was wrongly scapegoated and jailed in Afghanistan a couple years ago. The criminal behind that acquired the information then, has put it back out on the web on behalf of the Obama goon squad. This kind of personal attack is the lowest form of stalking and harassment. The only people who benefit from doing this are the Obama people, and goes back to the low and dirty tactics they are obviously so willing to use. Go to these links to see what is going on with Cao of Cao’s Blog. Regardless as to whether or not you agree with her, what is happening to her is a sneak preview of how low the radical elements of the far left are willing to go to silence their opposition. It is blatant and people do owe it to themselves to see this.
This kind of caustic, dishonorable harassment is why I can’t see these people in the White House. It has nothing to do with the color of someone’s skin, as those who harass and try to manipulate others and the information they blog about are “white people and other ethnicities” doing this on behalf of the Obama camp. If Obama is soooo leftist, maoist in his thinking that he cannot be forthcoming with the American people and cannot control the people trying to propel him into the White House any better than this, he will not control them afterward either. And if there is no validity in the questions being asked by the right wing conservatives, then why is the left wing working so hard to silence them??? You can see how deeply into denial the left is about the leanings of the mainstream media by reading and listening to the RFK Jr video on Van Helsing’s blog post on Moonbattery:
The left wing pushes for the “Fairness Doctrine” as a means to silence voices that oppose their agenda. You owe it to yourself to look at this blog post, and regardless as to whether you agree with Van Helsing’s view or not, understand that it may be your view that comes under attack next. And it may well be your family that is threatened as well. I think back to the much overdone, but moving moment in the movie “Brave Heart” where Wallace asks his troops, “What will you do without Freedom?”
